The hazards of amplitude versus offset (AVO) technique mostly applied in seismic explorations for predicting coalbed methane (CBM) content mainly derive from multi-stage amplitude modifications during seismic signal preprocessing. The modifications are undoubtedly necessitated by improving high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and high resolution, and achieve high fidelity to some extent; and nevertheless lead to an unfavorable possibility to implement CBM AVO analysis. Similar to sandstone reservoir with gas, AVO analysis preprocessing for CBM reservoir strictly abides by a relative amplitude preserved (RAP) principle and particularly emphasizes on preserving the evanescent class IV AVO anomaly. As for those indispensable dealings with linear noise attenuations, near-surface variety compensations and time/depth spatial imaging, the key technologies adapted to CBM AVO preprocessing should use radial trace (RT) filter, refined surface-consistent amplitude compensation (SCAC), and RAP Kirchhoff prestack time migration (PSTM). The theoretical analysis and one real 3D example in this paper demonstrate that three key technologies compliant to RAP principle in CBM AVO preprocessing can preserve the class IV AVO anomaly and benefit an operation of CBM AVO analysis and an improvement of CBM evaluation. 相似文献
Impedance is a physical parameter that plays an important role in seismic data processing and interpretation. A relative impedance perturbation (the ratio of the impedance perturbation and the impedance for the background models) imaging method in depth domain based on the reflection wave equation is proposed. Under the small perturbation assumption, primary wave and high-frequency approximation condition, a linear propagation equation of the primary reflection waves based on the relative impedance perturbation was first derived. On this basis, we further derived the imaging formula of the relative impedance perturbation using a linear inversion theory. Then, the source–receiver bidirectional illumination compensation was used to improve the image quality of the subsurface structures. The image result obtained by this method can be used to estimate the relative impedance perturbation. In the angle domain, the extracted near-angle-domain image gather with amplitude compensation can estimate the relative impedance perturbation, and the far-angle image gather provides the estimation of the relative velocity perturbation (the ratio of the velocity perturbation and the background velocity). In the Sichuan Basin, seismic activity has been low historically, but in the past few decades, a series of moderate to strong earthquakes have occurred. Especially since 2015, earthquake activity has seen an unprecedented continuous growth trend, and the magnitude of events is increasing. Following the M5.7 Xingwen earthquake on 18 Dec. 2018, which was suggested to be induced by shale gas hydraulic fracturing, a swarm of earthquakes with a maximum magnitude up to M6.0 struck Changning and the surrounding counties. Questions arose about the possible involvement of industrial actions in these destructive events. In fact, underground fluid injection in salt mine fields has been occurring in the Sichuan Basin for more than 70 years. Disposal of wastewater in natural gas fields has also continued for about 40 years. Since 2008, injection for shale gas development in the southern Sichuan Basin has increased rapidly. The possible link between the increasing seismicity and increasing injection activity is an important issue. Although surrounded by seismically active zones to the southwest and northwest, the Sichuan Basin is a rather stable region with a wide range of geological settings. First, we present a brief review of earthquakes of magnitude 5 or higher since 1600 to obtain the long-term event rate and explore the possible link between the rapidly increasing trend of seismic activity and industrial injection activities in recent decades. Second, based on a review of previous research results, combined with the latest data, we describe a comprehensive analysis of the characteristics and occurrence conditions of natural and injection-induced major seismic clusters in the Sichuan Basin since 1700. Finally, we list some conclusions and insights, which provide a better understanding of why damaging events occur so that they can either be avoided or mitigated, point out scientific questions that need urgent research, and propose a general framework based on geomechanics for assessment and management of earthquake-related risks.
Controlling desertification is an important ecological target for the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China, where studies on impacts of vegetation restoration measures on sandy soil improvement are still lacking. The Mugetan Desert in Guinan County, Qinghai Province, northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is a repre-sentative ecological restoration area. The impacts of artificial vegetation on the ecological restoration and its properties are studied by using field investigation and sample testing including contents of the surface layer and the vegetation composition of movable, semi-fixed, and fixed sand dunes. Results demonstrate that the moss crust has formed on the surface of a sand dune which has become fixed after 30 years under the impact of artificial vegetation (i.e. Cathay poplar). Meanwhile, the clay minerals, organic matter, and other soil available nutrients have markedly increased. A correlation has been found between these materials, i.e., clay minerals and organic matter content increasing with silt and clay increases with reduction in sand content. In addition, soil nutrient were positively correlated with the increase of plant diversity.Under the current meteorological conditions, the artificial vegetation is helpful for the stabili-zation of sand dune and the ecological restoration in the Mugetan Desert. 相似文献
